1.074 ABY – 1830 Hour – Reserch Station Shantipole – Roche Asteroid Field-Cael Report
We are in the science bay with the 2 prototype fighters. Zal has RR5 plugged into the onboard computer in the cockpit of the 2nd B1 fighter he will need to fly. So he can orient himself with the controls. This fighter is named “Republic Saber.” Zal’s B1 is named “The Spirit of Alderan.” The name of this fighter brings up a thousand bad memories. I quickly push those memories aside. Zal still needs a co-pilot / scanner person for her fighter. Berrenger volunteers to be RR5’s co-pilot. I call Mathus, who is still in the landing bay. To see if he can trace where the transmission from Carnor Jax came from. He is actually in the landing bay control room. He is aggravated that I am taking him away from getting the landing bay doors open, but he runs the trace. (Mathus) “I cant get an exact lock, but I think the transmission came from a small asteroid near by. Bearing 181 Mark 22. Approximately 2000 meters away. (Zal) “Hey Guys ! I still need a co-pilot for my bird. Which one of you are going to fly my 2nd? ” (Cael) “I cant, I need to go after Jax and get the commander back.” (Berrenger) “Cael, our mission was to get these prototypes out.” (Cael) “Our mission was to get everyone and the prototypes out. I intend to do that.” Mathus overhearing the conversation over the comm. (Mathus) “I will second seat the fighter. Give me a minuet to get over there. I already found the controls for the blast door. I will meet you in the science bay.” I turn to Zal. (Cael) “So now you have a co-pilot. Are we good? I suspect you can hold off the Tie fighters while I head the other direction and go find the commander? Let me know when you are ready to launch.” Zal nods to me and turns to RR5. (Zal) “Are you OK on the controls?” (RR5) “Affirmative, I have catagorize each of the controls into my memory banks.” Just then, Mathus comes running up the ramp to the science bay. He is huffing and puffing. I need to get him into PT class when we get back on the Guppy. If we get back to the Guppy. In between his huffing and puffing (Mathus) “The controls for the blast doors are in the control room. Panel on the right of the door with the 3 red buttons. Oh yea, Omnath got his arm caught in the blast door. I had to disassemble his arm to get him out. He is OK. Well almost OK.” Mathus turns and looks at the prototypes. (Mathue) “WOW, so these are the prototypes. They are bigger then I expected.” Zal gets Mathus into the co-pilot seat and starts pointing out controls to him. Grabbo, Flower and I leave the science bay. The Verpine techs finish prepping the ships, and then they also head for the landing bay. In the turbo lift I contact Roots. (Cael) “Roots, start powering up the shuttles. We need to move all the passengers and wounded to the 2 other shuttles. We will be there in about 2 minuets. (R2T7) “Twee Dee Boop.”

1845 Hour – As we reach the landing bay. Roots has our shuttle and 1other powered up. He is heading to the 3rd shuttle. When I get to the ramp of our shuttle. (Cael) “Ok everyone, I need you all to move to the other 2 shuttles. When we open the doors. I need you to drift the shuttles out of the bay and slowly move out of the asteroid field. Don’t draw attention to yourself. Go slow. Our Mon Calamari cruiser, the Guppy is not far. Grabbo, can Moonbeam be moved to the other shuttle?” (Grabbo) “Warr shrr ggrrrddd sshhhwwwooo – translation “Yes, I will secure her.” Omnath walks over to me. He is holding his partially crushed left arm in his right hand. (Omnath) “What I do?” (Cael) “Help move the passengers to the other shuttle. Then you are with us. Make sure we have a space suit for you and Grabbo. Flower’s and my armor will act as a suit.” Omnath nods Yes. I head to the control room. When I get there I look for the panel to the right of the door with 3 red buttons. There are scorch marks on the panel, but it looks like Mathus has jury rigged the door to operate remotely. There are open sockets and wires running from the panel to an open access hole across the room. In the black soot next to the panel. Mathus wrote the 5 digit code to open the door remotely. Got to hand it to him. He can probably make a computer out of Bantha dung, wire and an old stormtrooper suit. I repeat the 23T3Z code several times as I run back to the shuttle. All the passengers are in the 2 other shuttles and all the Virpine techs are also with them. There is a Verpine in the pilot seat of both of the other shuttles. I climb into the pilot seat and shut the ramp. Omnath is in the gunner chair and Flower is in the co-pilot seat. Grabbo is in the back. I can hear him complaining about his fur getting stuck inside the space suit. Roots is next to me. He is plugged into the ships computer. Zal radios that they are ready to launch. (Cael) “We are good to go here. Good luck.” We then hear a loud explosion, and the asteroid shakes. I enter the 23T3Z code and the blast doors slowly open. We slowly drift out into the asteroid field. I try to use the thrusters as little as possible. I don’t want any Tie fighters noticing me. The other 2 shuttles are slowly heading off in the direction that the Guppy should be. (Cael) “Roots, see if you can narrow down where that transmission came from.” Roots directs the shuttle sensor array and coordinates pop up on the screen. They are for a medium sized asteroid. Looks like a landing strip is carved out of it. I tell Omnath that he better put on his space suit. He goes in the back and dons the suit. With a little help from Grabbo. We can hear the radio transmissions from Zal to RR5 and back. The Tie fighters are oblivious to us and are after the 2 prototypes. 2 Tie fighters zoom past us, not thinking twice. This is good. I take this opportunity to speed up a bit. The Tie fighter leader tries to intimidate Zal to surrender. Tie fighters may be fast, but they have no shields. Those 2 prototypes have good shields and carry a lot of fire power. Those imperials are in for a very rude surprise. As we get near the asteroid, we can see 3 life pods and 5 skiffs in the landing area. We hear Zal destroy 1 tie fighter. Seems she cut the enemy ship in half. Damn those B1 fighters must be something to see in combat. We next hear RR5 has destroyed 1 and disables another tie fighter. As we are coming down for a landing at the landing strip. 1 of the techs on the asteroid runs up to the shuttle. He hits the intercom that is by the ramp. (Tech) “What, what is going on. This is not protocol. Carnor should not have the commander out here.” (Cael) “Where are they? Where did they go?” I can see on the monitor. The tech points toward another asteroid that looks like a big donut with a bite taken out of it. (Tech) “They are headed in that direction in a skiff. That part is not finished. They are still mining that area of the asteroid field. Besides there is a imperial cruiser over there. This is not protocol.” I look in the direction the tech is pointing. There is an imperial gladiator lite cruiser a bit farther outside the asteroid field but still visible. The donut asteroid is a little over 5000 meters away. I hit the microphone to the outside. (Cael) “Carnor Jax is the traitor.” The tech has an odd bewildered look on his face as I lift off the asteroid and head towards the direction he was pointing.

1910 Hour – (Cael) “Roots, can you detect the skiff with Carnor and the commander?” Roots is using the sensor array. (Roots) “Wooor boop boop.” In other words, NO, (Cael) “Ok everyone. See if any of you can spot them.” As we get closer to the donut asteroid. We can see some movement around the center of it. There seems to be a short landing area with several skiffs parked there. There are rough tunnels bored into the asteroid near the landing zone. I bring the shuttle in to land. 1 of the skiffs has ice crystals on it and is still dissipating heat. It was recently used. I am betting that is the skiff Carnor Jax used. We hear Carnor Jax’s voice again on the comm. (Carnor) “I said give me the prototypes and I will release the commander. I will kill him if you don’t.” Now I know he is here. I do not answer that empty threat. I know he will not kill the commander. That is the only bargaining chip he has. We secure the shuttle and the 4 of us head to the largest tunnel. I put the scan goggles on over my helmet. This gives me a clear view in the dim to darkness of the tunnel. This tunnel may be large but it twists in several directions. I am in the lead. Grabbo is behind me. Then Flower and Omnath brings up the rear. We get about 50 meters into the tunnel. (Carnor) “I thought we were friends captain. I will give you the commander if you let me go.” I still do not answer him. I hope that fool pees in his suit with fear. (Carnor) “You have to be getting close. Let me go. Just let me go.” As we round a shallow bend. I can make out 2 outlines about 30 meters away. It looks like Carnor is standing slightly behind the commander and he is holding a blaster pistol. I give hand signals to the 3 behind me, that I am going to jump him, and for them to get the commander to safety. I hit the switch on my stealth field. I disappear and push off down the tunnel at full speed. I get to Carnor in a flash and grab him. I stab my vibro knife into a fold in his suit. Grabbo runs up and gets between the commander and Carnor. Omnath has the large vibro knife extended from the dislocated arm he is carrying. He stabs Carnor deep. Carnor in pain, drops his blaster pistol. Flower runs up and pulls the commander away to a safe distance. (Ackbar) “No, no, don’t kill him. Don’t kill him. Keep him alive.” I stop myself from stabbing this traitor again. I turn off the stealth field. Carnor’s suit is losing air pretty fast. Grabbo grabs Carnor in a Wookee Hug. Picks him up like a doll and walks him back to the shuttle. When we are all inside and the shuttle is pressurized again. Grabbo removes parts of Carnor’s suit to stabilizes the 2 stab wounds on our prisoner. Flower makes sure that the commander has not been hurt. We next secure Carnor in a seat with heavy cargo straps. He is not happy and is not going anywhere. We can hear over the comm that Zal and RR5 are engaged with several Tie fighters. Just hold out for a few more minuets and we can all rendezvous at the Guppy.

We are in the science bay with the 2 prototypes. Zal was going over the check list and the manual while RR plugged in to the other prototype to understand its specs.

We were told these prototypes are called B-wings. Might as well since there are X-Wings, Y-Wings, Z-wings and A-wings. The B-wings were loaded with its full ammo compliment, though I am not sure if they went through any thorough testing. It’s going to be a crash course now.

I begin to suit up to help RR in one B-Wing named “Republic Saber.” Zal and Mathus take the other ship, “Spirit of Alderan.”

Meanwhile in the distance I hear Cael arguing how we are going to rescue commander Ackbar. I didn’t want to get involved since our directive was to deliver the prototypes to safety.

As soon RR turns on the engines of the “Republic Saber”, I see red lights flashing because of nearby enemies and asteroids. Zal takes point and leaves the bay. RR, in the other B-wing, follows.

I’ve quickly learned the Guppy is no the edge of the asteroid field and is engaged with an Imperial Gladiator Cruiser, the Oppressor. There is another Imperial Gladiator Cruiser in another quadrant headed to the command asteroid.

I asked RR whether the Guppy is able to hold out against the Opperssor. RR said they are evenly matched but if the other cruiser got into range, the Guppy would be in trouble. I’ve decided it’s best we head toward the Guppy to assist since the B-wing is a heavy bomber meant for capital ships.

RR charted a course though the asteroid field to avoid ties. RR had no problem and took point while Zal tried to keep her B-wing close-by. However, Zal was having issue with the controls, clips an asteriod and had to exit the thick region of the asteroid field.

At that moment, Zal’s ship was hailed by the 244th Tie Division to surrender. Zal punches the throttle and engages 6 Ties. 2 of the ties fire at the “Spirit of Alderan” and misses. Zal fires back slicing a Tie in half.

I wanted to continue the course to help the Guppy but Zal needed help. RR took the Republic Saber out of the asteroid field and engaged a set of ties. RR’s forward canon take out a Tie while I manned the Ion canons. The Ion canon struck a Tie fighter, slowing it.

Two more Ties come about and fire at the “Republic Saber”, striking it. However their maneuver placed them at a compromising positions allowing RR and I to take clear shots.

To be continued.

A Traitor In The Mix
Episode 11-2-2017

1.074 ABY – 1700 Hour – Reserch Station Shantipole – Roche Asteroid Field-Cael Report
The hanger bay has been cleared of imperials. Roots comes rolling down the ramp from the Lambda shuttle. Grabbo is with him. Mathus waves to us from the cockpit of the other shuttle. Over our comms. (Mathus) “I will wait here with the shuttles.” I give him the thumbs up. Probably best that he stays here. He has the luck to get other people in trouble while he sneaks out the back. Grabbo, Flower, Roots and I head towards the control room that is overlooking the landing bay. We can see several imperials in there. They probably alerted the whole base we are coming. As we head into the hallway. We turn right and go up a flight of stairs. Grabbo picks up Roots and carries him up the stairs. As we get to the top of the stairs. We see an imperial tech just entering the doors as they are closing behind him. Flower quickly hits the control button a mere second after they close. The doors reopen. The imperial tech is at the 2nd set of doors that enters into the control room. He turns to look at us. I fire Betty and drop him into the doorway. The doors get stuck trying to close on the dead body. We can see several imperial techs in the control room. They are running from console to console. I quickly pull a frag grenade. Flick the activate switch. As I throw the grenade through the narrow opening in the doorway. I think to myself. “This is easy. That opening is wider then a blitzball goal.” The grenade sails through the opening and explodes in the control room. The body that was stuck in the doorway gets thrown towards us and into the hallway. The doors now close without an obstruction in them. Roots rolls up to the door mechanism. It takes him almost half a minuet to get the doors to open. When it finally opens. There are imperial tech bodies strewn everywhere. The controls in the room are also pretty damaged. Maybe the frag Grenade was not such a good idea. As we look out the plasteel window into the shuttle bay. We see that the electronic barrier door of the bay has stopped working. The shuttles and debris are beginning to float towards the door. (Cael) “Frick ! Where is the Blast Door override. Where is the override?” Grabbo finds the lever and pulls it. The steel blast doors in the landing bay close. A few pieces of debris had already floated out the door before it could close. One of the shuttles hits the door and gets a dent in its port side wing. At this point I see Omnath clinging to a piece of debris near the now closed blast door. Roots finds a computer hookup that is not damaged from the blast. He has the base computer tell him where the science bay and the prototype fighters are. We exit the control room and head down a hallway to a turbo lift. The science bay is 2 levels above where we are. In the turbo lift. Grabbo offers each of us a blue speed pills. Both Flower and I decline. He puts them away. The lift stops at the top floor but the doors do not open. Roots has to persuade the base computer that we are friendly and to open the doors. This takes him a minuet.

1730 Hour – When the doors to the turbo lift open. We see a short gap that leads to a rise of 6 stairs. On either side of the stairs are 2 boarding droids by a console. There are 4 groups of 5 imperials in this room. 2 of the groups are trying to cut through the blast doors to the science bay. I level Betty and aim for 1 of the men cutting at the door. My shot takes out the tibanna gas tank on his back. It explodes, killing all 5 troopers in that group. Flower fires at one of the other groups of troopers. They run and duck for cover. Blaster bolts start firing in every direction. Grabbo growls and takes off running into the room. He jumps and runs up to the other group cutting the doors. He swings his vibro axe in a wide arc. He hits the tank and the feeder line for the tibanna gas cutting torch. Spewing gas everywhere. His axe ends up in 2 other troopers. They both fall to the floor dead. The rest of this group moves to cover near the door while the tech tries to get the torch working again. Flower and I are shooting, picking off troopers, here and there. I have been hit twice with blaster fire. Got to love this laminate armor. Grabbo, with his axe. Jumps over the consol and plants his axe into 1 of the boarding droids. He jams it under the droids head. It can not swing its arm or its shield towards Grabbo. At this time, Berrenger, RR5 and 7 Alliance personnel enter the room from a side hallway door. Not far from where Grabbo is battling the droid. (Cael) “Well it’s about time they got here.” Berrenger has his crazy ion gun out. He shoots at the boarding droid. The sparks from the shot jump all over the droid. It staggers from the electric shot. Grabbo’s fur seems to stand on end from the electric shock. RR5 turns and shoots at the cutter group near the door. They all explode in flames. He must have hit the escaping tibanna gas from the tank that Grabbo hit. From the Alliance personnel near Berrenger. A crazy male Tel’wek jumps onto the boarding droid. He stabs at the droid with a large vibro knife. The droid immediately shuts down. The Tel’wek hands Grabbo back his axe. I take a hit from a trooper from the far side of the room Then another hit from the other boarding droid, but I keep firing. Flower is continuing to shoot at the troopers in the room. Trying to keep them from advancing on us. 1 of the groups of troopers tries flanking to get closer to the 2 of us at the turbo lift. When they get to close range. I try the scatter blaster that is mounted under the barrel of Betty. The multi shot blast is pretty vicious. It kills 2 troopers in their tracks. The other 3 dive for cover near the other boarding droid. Berrenger now shoots the other boarding droid as it was crossing the floor towards him. The crazy Tel’wek runs at the 2nd boarding droid. He jumps onto it and jams the vibro knife into a craves in the droids breast plate. The big droid staggers. He jams the knife in a 2nd time and the droid shuts down. As it falls, the Tel’wek pushes the droid onto a group of troopers. Pinning them into a console. Grabbo is screaming at the troopers with his axe poised over his head. The 2 troopers surrender. The last trooper, who is closer to Flower and I. Seeing the other 2 troopers surrender. He also drops his weapon and surrenders. We round up the alive imperials and the Alliance personnel that came with Berrenger keeps them covered. Berrenger meets us near the science bay doors. (Berrenger) “How the frick did you get here before us?” (Cael) “We flew the 2 imp shuttles here. What took you so long to get up here?” (Berrenger) “Well, we had to take our time. Needed to go in through some vents to get into the base. And then on top of that, rescue these Alliance personnel.” He points to the Tel’wek. (Berrenger) “By the way, this is Koroviev. He is Alliance Intelligence.” Koroviev nods to us as he frisks the 3 remaining troopers.

1745 Hour – RR5 is at the doors to the science bay. It takes him and Roots a minuet to get the doors open. Beyond is a 10 meter ramp up. When we get to the top of the ramp. There is a rather large circular science bay. The bay is rotating and the 2 prototype fighters are in the center. These fighters are nothing like I have ever seen before. There is a cockpit pod at 1 end. In the center are the engines, with folded X foils. There are lasers mounted on the 2 X foils. At the far end of the fighter is a heavy weapons pod. It is sprouting some heavy cannons. There are Verpine techs crawling all over both ships. They seem to be adjusting parts and fueling the ships. At this point we hear the familiar voice of Zal. (Zal) “Hey guys, glad they sent you to get us out of here.” (Cael) “Hey Zal, where is is the commander?” (Zal) “I thought he was with you?” (Cael) ”He blasted over in a life pod with Carnor Jax.” (Zal) “Oh good, then he is safe with his Assistant.” (Cael) “No, not good. Carnor Jax is the traitor that was informing the imperials.” Zal looks at me shocked. (Zal) “You know, that makes sense on how the project has stalled recently. Do you have a pilot for the other fighter? I cant pilot both out of here.” Berrenger points to RR5. (Berrenger) “He’s our pilot.” (RR5) “I will need to familiarize myself with the prototype controls.” Just as Zal was going to show RR5 how the controls work. We hear Carnor Jax’s voice over the base intercom system. (Carnor) “Rebels, I have the commander. If you want him back, unharmed. You will give me the prototypes.” (Cael) “Great, nothing goes easy, nothing.”

Where are those prototypes?

Smoke from the smoke grenade started to dissipate while RR and I freed the 7 republic troopers in the room. Most were techs but one seemed more competent than the others. He introduced himself as Koroviev. I asked Koroviev the best way we can make it to the prototypes. Koroviev agreed to take us there, took point and the rest of us followed.

I listened on the Imp com tracking where other Imps may be. We rounded a corner when Koroviev spotted an Imp patrol. We waited for it to pass by, but when Koroviev thought the area was clear, another patrol turned the corner and engaged us.

RR started spraying into the room providing cover but missed the troopers. I also missed but Koroviev hit, taking out a trooper.

Troopers fired back, striking Koroviev. RR continues to fires back in rapid succession, melting the gun. However the Imperial patrol did a strategic withdrawal.

I tried to press the advance but Koroviev paused the advance searching the Storm trooper’s body. Wasn’t sure what he was hoping to find, but I hope it was worth the delay.

We continued our advance and entered a large room, what seemed to be a control room where there was a battle that was in progress. How did the heck did Cael, Grabo, and Mathus get here before RR and I? No matter, I’ll figure that out later as Grabo is in melee with a boarding droid and are a dozen troops in the room plus a second boarding droid.

I pulled out my trusty ion pistol and fired at the droid Grabo is engaged with. The arc lightning passed Grabo and struck the droid. The fur on Grabo was slightly charged, but the droid was not looking well.

RR was ready to fire at a bunch of troopers taking cover, but his sensors detected a leak from a tank that contained flammable gas. The leak came from a gash that Grabo’s vibro-axe created. RR fired at the gash, igniting the contents and knocking the troopers down.

Koroviev closed the distance bertween him and Grabo’s boarding droid and jammed his vibroknife into its CPU. Sparks showered him and Grabo and the unit shutdown. Grabo’s vibro-axe loosened and Grabo was able to reclaim it before engaging the other boarding droid.

I see Cael at the other side of the room with Flower. Cael is hit but shrugs it off while the remaining untouched boarding droid struck Grabo. Grabo, in a bit of a rage, aggros the droid but misses. Cael is engaged with some troopers and misses them with his shotgun.

I shoot the second boarding droid with the ion pistol striking it, but it was not as effective as the first hit I did to the other droid. Koroviev runs up to the second droid and stuns it with his vibroknife attack. I’ve never seen someone be as effective as a knife wielder before.

RR fired but missed while the troopers engaged with Cael strike him again. But again, Cael shrugs it off.

Grabo takes a swing at some troopers trying to flee but misses. Flower is able to take down another trooper as well as Cael.

I take another shot at a droid but miss while RR is able to take out another Imp trooper.

Koroviev takes another stab at the stunned boarding droid, finishes it with the finesse of his vibroknife, and pushes the pile of metal on top of some retreating troopers. The reaming troopers in the surrender, ending combat.

I tried to listen to the Imp comm to see if there are any others nearby. By all indications, most were not in the asteroid base but rather outside. RR is able to hack into a door and we all proceed to a secure bay that contains the prototypes.

Upon arrival in the science bay, we hear a familiar voice on the comm. It’s Zal! We need a good pilot, and now is a great time. The prototypes are being prepared by some of the Verpine techs. However we have some issues with some tie fighters circling the asteroid, ready to shoot anything that leaves it.

We also get a ominous message from Konor Jax. He said he’s holding Commander Ackbar hostage. I know the directive is to get the prototypes out, but we can’t risk losing Commander Ackbar either with all the knowledge he has.

Firefight On Shantipole
Episode 10-19-2017

1.074 ABY – 1600 Hour – Reserch Station Shantipole – Roche Asteroid Field – Cael Report
MB and Flower are pinned down on the far side of our shuttle Musky. I am near the hallway on the far side of the landing bay, still cloaked. I can hear over my comm the problem that Berrenger and RR5 are having with the boarding droid in the pod bay at the far side of the asteroid. I really hope Berrenger has that ion gun. Grabbo enters the main docking bay from the comm room door with his vibro axe. Never could understand a Doctor who uses a vibro axe, but he is pretty good at wielding it. From the ceiling of the docking bay. There are some odd looking flechette guns shooting at the storm troopers. I suspect they are a Virpine design defensive gun. They are not hitting much but they are keeping the far group of troopers dodging for cover. The 2nd group of troopers comes around the back side of the lambda shuttle. (Trooper1) “Where did he go?” (Trooper2) “He must have doubled back.” (Berrenger – through comm) “Commander Halbey has been hit. We are taking heavy amount of fire. Pinned down.” Damn it man! I cant be in 2 places at 1 time. Berrenger will just have to hold on. I autofire on the group by the lambda and 2 troopers go down. I move to behind the remaining 3 in that group as they fire in the area of where I was. (Berrenger) “Droid down! Droid down! We are retreating and taking a pod to other asteroid base where the prototypes are.” (Mathus) “Guppy, Come in Guppy. Imperials have breached the outer defenses of Shantipol station. We are evacuating.” I can bearly hear the Guppy’s reply over Mathus’s comm. (Guppy) “Guppy Here. 2 heavy cruisers, heavy fire, rendezvous Shantipole, secure prototypes.” I think to myself. Yea, yea, what do they think we are doing. Singing old Bith jazz tunes? The girls are under heavy fire from the troopers on the far side of the docking bay. I can not see what is happened over there from my vantage point. Only that the girls are exchanging fire with the troopers. Over the intercom throughout the station. (Ackbar) “All personnel, evacuate, imperials have entered the station.” (Mathus) “Lets go commander. We have to go NOW!” (Omnath) “Mathus, you get the commander to the pods. I will delay these imperials.” (Berrenger) “Launching pod for other………..” the communication trails off. He is out of range of our comms and I assume on his way over to the prototypes. I fire on the group of 3 in front of me. 2 more go down and I move between the 2 lambda shuttles while the last trooper fires where I was. Grabbo has pried open the cover the 3rd group of troopers was using. The flechette guns takes out 1 of the troopers. Grabbo takes the helmet, and the head off of the lieutenant and plants his vibro axe into another trooper in that group. I take out the last trooper in that group and pivot and take out the last trooper that is off to my right. I flick the switch off on my stealth field. Roots rolls past me and up the ramp of the 1st lambda shuttle. (Cael) “Roots, fire that shuttle up. We are bugging out asap.” (Roots) “Twee, Beep” I run to the girls. Moonbeam is unconscious. Flower’s left arm is severely damaged. Grabbo comes over to us and we get them mobile. (Cael) “Get them into the lambda. Roots is powering it up. I need to see to the commander and what is happening on the other side of this base.” (Grabbo) “Warrrssek Yaarrr – Yes, I think.”

1615 Hour - I proceed to the hallway that leads to the comm room. Omnath is engaged with 2 imperials at the far end of the hallway. There is a 3rd trooper on the floor choking on his own blood from a severe wound to his neck. He slumps to the floor dead. My 1st shot at the 2 troopers standing goes wide and hits the wall. Omnath sees me coming down the hallway and pivots the imperials between him and me. My 2nd burst hits both the imperials. They both slump to the floor with the other dead trooper. (Cael) “Where is the commander and Mathus?” (Omnath) “Mathus drag him to pod bay. That way.” Omnath and I double time it towards the pod bay. There are station crew and Virpines rushing everywhere. We direct them to the main shuttle bay and the lambda shuttle. When we get to the pod bay. We see Mathus engaged with the huge boarding droid. Actually the droid has Mathus in its 2 claws. He is trying to disable the droid, but cant reach the open access panel near its head. Omnath and I shoot at the droid. My shot bounces off the droids heavy armor. Omnath’s shot hits the open panel. Sparks fly everywhere as the droid tips and falls over. Mathus jumps clear, so as not to get crushed. All the stormtroopers in the pod bay are dead. Mathus meets us half way as we walk over to the pods. (Cael) “Are you alright?” (Mathus) “I will live to splice another day.” In the middle pod, we see commander Ackbar. He is in a heated argument with Carnor Jax. Just as we get to about 5 meters from the pod. Carnor sees us and hits the launch button. The pod iris door quickly seals and the pod launches before we can get to it. (Cael) “Son Of A Frick! Come on, Roots should have 1 of the lambda shuttles prepped and ready in the main landing bay.” As we rush back to the landing bay. We usher any remaining crew towards the shuttles. We bump into Suskapo. (Cael) “Are all the crew out?” (Suskapo) “We have very few that are left.” (Cael) “Get them to the shuttles, NOW!” (Mathus) “I will pilot the 2nd shuttle. I will take Sus, Soska, whatever his name and Omnath with me.” (Cael) “OK, We will need to follow you, since Suskapo knows the way to the other asteroid with the prototypes.”

1630 Hour - All the remaining crew from Shantipol station is loaded into the 2 lambda shuttles. I pilot the first shuttle and Mathus pilots the other. Flower is in the gunners chair with her left arm in a makeshift sling. She gives me the thumbs up. 1 of the Virpines is in my co-pilot chair. He is regulating the pre-heaters on the fuel cells. (Cael) “Cael to Mathus, are we ready?” (Mathus) “We are ready over hear.” We launch the 2 shuttles and Suskapo navigates us to the other asteroid where the prototypes are housed. As we approach the other oval asteroid. We see that there are tie fighters swarming everywhere. The landing bay of Shantipole station C, is blocked by a patrol. Mathus uses the shuttle comm to contact the patrol. (Mathus) “Shuttle 29534 to patrol. We request landing in the asteroid bay.” (Imperial) “Shuttle 29534. Why are you not at the base command asteroid?” (Mathus) “Base command asteroid secure. We are moving to help secure this next asteroid.” (Imperial) “Shuttle 29534. You and shuttle 27335 are cleared to land. We will need the help.” As we bring the shuttles into the landing bay. We can see several groups of imperials. Some have alliance prisoners. I turn to the co-pilot. (Cael) “Can you make the landing?” (Verpine) “Yes, but where are you going?” (Cael) I want you to initiate the landing. As we land, open the boarding ramp as quick as possible. Flower, I want you to fire the ships guns at any group that does not have alliance prisoners. I will thin out the groups that have prisoners. Are we clear?” Flower gives me the thumbs up. The Virpine sees Flower’s reply to me. The virpine hand only has 3 articulated fingers. It curls 2 fingers and give me 1 finger up. I take that as a go. I don my helmet, grab Betty and head to the top of the boarding ramp. I look over the main seating in the shuttle. MB is on a stretcher with several bacta patches on her. She is still unconscious. There are 10 other Shantipole crew in here. I do not want to put any of them in harms way, but I have no choice. 1 of the Verpines sees me standing there with my rifle. He comes over to me with a blaster in his hand. (Cael) “You keep any imperials from coming up this ramp.” He nods to me yes. I can feel the shuttles repulsers activate as we are slowly dropping to the deck. The ramp is opening before we are fully down. Flower starts firing the ships guns in rapid succession as the ramp is only down part way. When the ramp is fully down I rush to the landing bay deck and start picking off imperials. After a few minuets, the landing bay is clear of imperials. Flower comes down the ramp holding a blaster pistol. (Cael) ”We need to find the commander. I hope Berrenger has secured the prototypes. You up to this?” She nods yes. (Flower) “I have to settle on what they did to my sister.” I am glad she has my back, and I have hers.

The boarding droid headed towards RR, Halibut and I with a shield in one arm and a large canon in the other. The droid fired its canon at Halibut with a direct hit in his cybernetic arm and leg. Sparks and oil from Halibut spewed.

RR returned fire, hitting its shield while I pulled out an ion blaster and fired. Lightning pulsated from my firearm, ignored the shield and struck the droid. The boarding droid was overwhelmed by the ion pulse and was knocked prone.

The remaining troopers returned fire hitting me. I retreated back towards the lifepods and took another shot back at the prone droid making sure it’s not coming back up frying its circuits. RR tried to get Halibut but slipped doing on Halibut’s oil slick. RR still managed to pull Halibut towards the lifepods.

Before the boarding droid rebooted and the remaining troopers in the bay returned fire, RR, Halibut managed to pull each other into a Lifepod and launched it into space. As much as I wanted to finish off the boarding droid and the troopers in the bay of the command center, I had to follow our directive and get a hold of the prototypes.

The pod was roomy, but it gave us limited vision and sense of where we were heading since we were on autopilot. Successfully, RR repaired Halibut’s arm and restored some functionality in his leg with a repair kit while I used a stimpack to heal the wound I took from the return fire. Once I was better, I tried to look out one of the pod’s portals to see if we were being followed. I saw we were approaching an asteroid which I assumed was Shantipole while seeing green and lasers whiz through the asteroid field.

The pod landed in a preprogrammed location on Shantipole which was a docking area that had a couple 2 man-skiffs. RR managed to get us closer to a skiff and I managed to find a rebreather mask to hope from the lifepod to the skiff since I would be exposed to a foreign environment for a moment.

From the skiff, RR asked Halibut, who was still on the pod, the location of the prototypes. Halibut said they were in the Science Bay and gave us a general location of it.

RR pointed out on the asteroid, there were Imp Troopers on the exterior of the asteroid so RR made some calculations to avoid any possible entanglements or being noticed. RR found a vent which we were able to park the skiff.

Once in the ventilation system, I made some calculated guesses the general direction of the Science Bay. We chose to remain in the vents to help us provide cover. Along the way, I had to short some fans with my ion blaster in order to get past them.

50 meters past a fan, we came across a vent and noticed that there were 7 captured troopers in a room with 3 armed Imp Stormtroopers. RR and I tried to see if we could get past this area in the vents but created too much noise. To not draw suspicion, I tried to make myself sound like a Imp Officer pursuing the rebellion in the vents. I don’t think the Stormtroopers bought my story and sent one to examine the vents.

Once the Stormtrooper popped his head in, I tried to blast him but missed. RR then scored a hit taking him out. However we had to deal with the other two.

I threw a smoke grenade to provide cover, but accidentally threw it close to my location. Smoke billowed in the vent but eventually covered the room the Imps were in. They fired at me, hitting me while RR tried to make it to the vent entrance. RR took out a second trooper while I finally was able to take out the 3rd Imp in the room.

We took the 3 Imp blasters and handed them to the trooper we freed. One of those troopers happens to be a pilot which is helpful since we are in need for a second pilot for the second prototype.

I hope Mathus, Grabo and Cael are having better luck with the Imp. May the force be with them.

We've been found!

The Guppy is in transit to the asteroid field and Shantipole. On it, we were given a transport named Musky. It’s a MC24-A shuttle specifically quipped to traverse the asteroid field. I don’t know how many times I can handle another droid telling me the odds of going through an asteroid field.

However, there was a bit of a rub. Our group is without a pilot. To accommodate our group, the Rebellion gave us a droid, RR-5. He wanted to be called Roger-Roger, but I wasn’t having any of it. My first impression of his was a bit jovial, as if he was programmed for pleasure cruises. The Rebellion does realize we are in a warzone? I guess the Rebellion would take anyone at this point.

The Musky was loaded up with supplies to take to Shantipole and the Guppy dropped out of hyperspace on the outskirts of the asteroid field. The crew of myself, RR-5, Flower, Moonbeam, Cael, Grabo, and Mathus were on board. RR-5 was having trouble with getting the shuttle out of the bay. HE blamed it on the shuttle being overloaded. He still managed but not without a few scratch.

Midway through our path through the asteroid field, there were 2 blips on the screen. They were identified as Imperial TIE fighters. RR-5 took evasive action, trying not to be detected by hiding behind an asteroid. The TIEs passed us and we odn’t think we were noticed. RR-5 then continued our course to Shantipole.

We landed shortly after on Shantipole. We were greeted by Cannor Jax, one of Commander Ackbar’s main men. Cael said he has a message to deliver to Ackbar. Jax offered to take it, but Cael rightfully insisted to take it directly to Ackbar. Jax didn’t seem amused.

I’ve learned on Shantipole there are 20 Rebellion staff and 50 Verpine, all working on the prototypes. I also met Hallibay, Ackbar’s other lieutenant. Hallibay was scarred from an explosion and had several cybernetic limbs. He said the Imp patrols have increased in the asteroid field as they come closer and closer to the station.

We finally met Commander Ackbar. He seemed thrilled and shamed Jax for failing to notify him we arrived.

Cael handed Ackbar the disk that was to be delivered. Ackbar opened it. It was a holo communication from Mon Martha. Mon Martha said the prototypes needed to be secured. The holo messenger stopped after asking that everyone leave the room so Mon Martha would give a personal message to Ackbar.

Everyone left the room. Jax tried to listen in, but Cael was making a lot of noise.

Meanwhile, Mahus tired to hack into the station to see if anyone was trying to do anything nefarious on. Mathus hacked records and found out that Jax was stalling the progression of the prototypes and has been sending out a subtle signal outside the asteroid field; just enough for an Imp to pick it up. Mathus reported the findings to Cael and myself, so Jax was on double secret probation.

The station was just about to go through a planned lockdown for an asteroid storm. The alarms rang and the station was under siege. Moments later, there were bigger blips in the distance. However, those were not asteroids. Those were 2 Imp freighters and landing shuttles were launched from them. The station’s location was compromised.

I asked Ackbar if there are any weapons on the station. There were none, so our options were limited. Cael, Mathus, Grabo, and the group stayed near Ackbar. I had the idea to take a pod at the bottom of the station and get to the prototypes. I took RR-5 and Hallibay with me to get other pods. Once I reached that part of the station, an imp landing shuttle crashed in the bay.

5 Imp soldiers existed the shuttle. RR-5 and I immediately fired on the group, taking out 3 of the troopers. The other two retreated back into the shuttle and launched and Imperial Boarding Droid. Not sure if RR-5 and I are up for the challenge against the droid.

Episode 10-4-2017

1.074 ABY – 1100 Hour – Calamari Cruiser Guppy – Roche Asteroid Belt – Cael Report
The deck crew has prepped the MC24A Lamprey Shuttle “Musky” for us. They have even assigned us a droid pilot to get us to the research station in the middle of the asteroid field. As the Guppy comes out of hyperspace. We are extremely close to the asteroid field. Tiny particles explode as they hit the forward shields on the Guppy. From the bridge it looks like tiny fireworks. Mathus, who is standing next to me on the bridge. Sends 2 techs to check on the shield power couplings. (Gravic) “Captain, we will be on station at the outer rim of the asteroid field here for as long as necessary.” (Cael) “Thank you Sir. What is my time table to complete the mission?” (Gravic) “Open, but we are looking at ASAP. We are either removing the imperial threat or evacuating the prototypes from the station. Either way the prototypes are not to fall into enemy hands, clear?” (Cael) “Yes Sir.” I salute and take my leave to assemble the rest of my team and board the shuttle.

1130 Hour – My teams has their gear ready and we board the shuttle. Now that I see the shuttle they are allotting us up close. It is rather tiny. It is smaller then the box, but at least there are seats in this one. 2 are in the cockpit area and 6 are in the passenger compartment. Roots and Dizzy will have to be strapped into the cargo compartment. Grabbo complains about his seat being too small. The girls are the smallest so they end up sitting to either side of him. Flower, to pass the time. Starts braiding Grabbo’s fur. I do not think the wookee minds. Our pilot is a bipedal droid named RR5. Mathus takes the co-pilot seat and starts fiddling with the controls. He even opens an access panel and checks some of the wiring. Soon we are launched and on our way. We clip a rigging boom on the way out of the shuttle bay. Mathus gives the droid pilot a look. RR5 ignores it like nothing happened. Mathus then tries contacting research station Shantipole. There is too much interference. Mathus opens the radio panel and adjusts something in there. He closes the panel and tries to contact the base and gets through easily. (RR5) “Sir, we have 2 unknowns on heading 182 mark 10, possibly imperials.” (Mathus) “Cael, I think we have some imps on our tail. Can you check the rear viewport and confirm?” I get up from my seat and go to the rear viewport. (Cael) “Mathus, there are 2 imperial TIE fighters to our starboard aft. Higher by about 10 to 15 degrees.” Mathus looks at RR5. (RR5) “I will need to evade them sir. We can not outrun them in the MC24A.” (Mathus) “Find a decent sized asteroid to hide behind.” RR5 puts us in close proximity to a large asteroid. We sit there hovering and wait. Hugging the large, slow moving asteroid. The 2 TIEs shoot past us at a unsafe speed for inside an asteroid field. Looks like they did not see us. RR5 continues us on corse towards Shantipole station. Mathus reestablishes contact with the base and gets a beacon for us to follow safely in.

1245 Hour – We are in visual range of the Shantipole research station. The beacon brings us into a medium sized hanger. As we break the shield door plane. 2 gauntry arms reach out and guide the shuttle into a landing spot against the right side of the bay. RR5 shuts down the engines and opens the rear ramp for us to disembark. Mathus as he gets up from the co-pilots seat. Puts a hand on RR5’s shoulder. (Mathus) “Nice job back there evading the 2 TIE fighters.” Not sure if droids can smile or understand pride, but RR5 looked pleased.

1300 Hour – As we exit the shuttle. We are greeted by 3 virpine dock workers. The lead dockworker introduces himself as Suskapo. His common speech is a bit difficult to follow. Verpines have a clicking sound in their words. Plus he babbles about how excited he is to have a strike team here and that they are very proud of the work they are doing on the prototype fighters. He is a bit overly eager to helping us. We have him direct us to the command center. The 3 verpines tend to refueling and prepping the shuttle. As we head to the comm center. We notice the hallways are a hexagon shape. We get to the door to the comm center and enter. There is a quarren admonishing a human tech at a comm station. The quarren we assume is Akbar’s Aid Carnor Jax. He soon comes over to us. (Carnor) “I see you and your team have arrived captain Cael.” Carnor also babbles on about how proud he is about the work they have done here and the advancements that the prototype B1 fighters are. I take notice that this is the 1st time someone called the prototypes by the designation B1. (Cael) “All good Mr Carnor. I have business with Commander Akbar.” (Carnor) “He is a bit busy right now. I will have to check his schedule as to when he can accommodate you.” A human walks up to near us. I assume this is the base commander, colonel Halbey. We can tell that the right side of his body is mostly cybernetics. He walks with a limp in that direction. Grabbo walks over to the colonel. (Grabbo) “I can adjust your right leg to elevate the limp.” (Halbey) “Yes, please, thank you.” Grabbo adjusts several servos on the leg. I turn back to the quarren. (Cael) “I do have this holo disc for the commander.” (Carnor) “You can give that to me. I will see to it that he gets it.” (Cael) “My orders are to hand the disc to the commander, personally.” Even if I had never seen a quarren flustered before. I would have still known by his quivering face tentacles that he was not happy with my answer to him. Grabbo, after adjusting Halbey’s cybernetic leg. Stands up. (Grabbo) “Try it now.” Halbey takes a few steps around and seems to be walking straighter. (Halbey) “Thank you so much.” Carnor ignores this interaction right next to him. (Carnor) “I can see if the commander is available.” (Cael) “You do that. We will wait right here.” Carnor again seems flustered as he walks towards the command center door. The comm techs are having trouble filtering out interference from some of the asteroids. Mathus notices this and offers assistance to remedy the problem. (Carnor) “We cant have anyone touch this delicate equipment here. I will take it under advisement.” Mathus to the rest of us under his breath (Mathus) “I don’t want you touching my broken toys.” This brings a chuckle and more fluster from Carnor. Not sure if he heard that. Carnor opens the door to the command center. Commander Akbar and 2 other crew are in there. The commander sees us in the comm room and waves us in. I lean over to Omnath. (Cael) “Please do me a favor. Scout the place. I got a bad feeling about this.” Omnath nods yes. As we filter into the control room. Omnath hangs back and moves off to the side. He never enters the command room and sneaks off to the side.

1330 Hour – In the control room. (Ackbar) “Welcome captain to Shantipole research station. We are so glad you and your team are here. We have been a little busy prepping for the coming asteroid storm.” I step forward and salute. (Ackbar) “We are not that formal here captain.” Ackbar extends his hand. I shake his hand and introduce my team. (Cael) “Mathus, here is my computer / mechanical tech. Grabbo, our doctor and xenobiologist expert. Berrenger, my quartermaster / negotiator specialist. My 2 attaches, Flower and Moonbeam.” Ackbar rambles on about the work they are doing here and of the specialty of the prototype fighters. (Cael) “Commander, I have this holo disc from commander Gravic.” I hand Ackbar the disc. Again I notice Carnor fluster his tentacles. Ackbar places it in the reader. A holo of Mon Mothra comes up. She explains the dire importance of the prototype fighters that Ackbar is working on. She assures Ackbar of a substantial promotion if these fighters are all that his reports say they are. She also requests Ackbar to accelerate the time table. The Holo pauses and the message reads “Next Segment – Commander Ackber’s eyes ONLY.” We all filter out of the control room. Ackbar even ushers Carnor out. Mathus wanders around the comm room. He categorizes what specific equipment they are using. He also determines the problem they are having by listening to the comm operators comments..

1430 Hour – Commander Ackbar opens the door and we filter back into the command center. Mathus hangs back and stays in the comm room. I assume he will repair their comm problem. Commander Ackbar assures us that the prototypes are ready. Carnor and Ackbar at this point get into a heated discussion as to protocol and the readiness of the prototypes. (Ackbar) “I have my orders Carnor.” Ackbar turns to us. (Ackbar) “Let me give your team a short tour of the facility.” As we walk we discuss each contingency as to relocating all equipment from the station. About half way through the tour. I get a blip on my datapad. It is from Mathus. “Cael, I fixed the comms. I believe they were sabotaged. Found disturbing info. Carnor Jax has been delaying this project. No direct link or messages to imps. All orders, info and messages to Ackbar go through Carnor. He delays them 3 to 12 days. Project should have been done 1-2 months ago. Still looking. Will Advise.” I look up from my pad. Carnor is directly behind commander Ackbar as we walk the facility. Ackbar explains the hourglass shape of the facility. The command center and most of the operations areas are in the Top Side. The barracks, the main power generator and other crew areas are considered Bottom Side. As we continue the tour, we hear a warning bell. (Ackbar) “That is for the approaching asteroid storm. We need to head back to the command center.”

1530 Hour – In the command center. Ackbar orders the B1 prototype fighters to be prepped to move ASAP. The human sensor officer at the sensor station turns toward the commander. (SO) “Sir, we have 2 large blips on our sensors. Moving in fast.” Ackbar starts barking orders. I contact Omnath to get back to the comm room. (SO) “2 Predator class cruisers, eta 20 minuets. We have 3 smaller blips inbound, eta 3 minuets.” (Ackbar) “I am going to need at least 50 minuets to download all our plans and prototype information. You have to bide me some time.” (Cael) “Commander, do you have radio transponder probes or satellites?” (Ackbar) “We can build anything here.” (Cael) “No, like what do you have now. I want to launch them to distract the incoming predators. Throw them off course.” (SO) “We have 2 radio sensor buoys in the store room.” In between all the commotion. Our droid pilot, RR5 enters the command center. (Halbey) “We need someone to close the blast doors.” (Berrenger) “I will take RR5 and head to the bottom side. Grabbo can handle the doors on the top side.” Berrenger motions to RR5 to follow him. The 2 head towards the bottom side of the station. The sensor officer returns with the 2 small radio buoys. (SO) “You will need to deploy them with your shuttle.” Just then we hear a crash in the hanger bay. The holo monitors show an imperial attack shuttle landing in the hanger bay. We also see on another monitor a breaching pod trying to access the gas vents near the power plant on the top side. (Mathus) “You handle the shuttle bay. I will take care of that breaching pod.” I tap the girls to follow me and we head to the hanger bay. As we get there. A 2nd attack shuttle lands fast in the hanger bay. Both shuttles are offloading storm troopers. I fire on the lieutenant as he is barking orders to his troops. I raise Betty and fire a single shot. The shot hits the lieutenant in the head and knocks his helmet off. He is dead before his body slumps to the ground. The troops near him look confused. Giving the girls and I time to move to more cover. Flower fires at another trooper but her shot bounces off the troopers armor. We move to the close side of our shuttle. It has been pushed forward and slightly into the wall near the door we exited from. There are 3 squads of 5 troops. Less the lieutenant I shot. 1 squad is moving to our left and heading down a hallway. There is another squad on the farside of the shuttle that is confused after losing their lieutenant. There is a 3rd squad to our right. Along the far wall of the hanger bay. Roots comes wheeling into the hanger bay and heads toward 1 of the attack shuttles. He dodges several blaster bolts. When he gets under the shuttle. He starts cutting into the drop down heavy blaster compartment. Not sure what the frick he is doing, but I hope he does it fast. My comm chirps. (Berrenger) “RR5 and I are in the bottom side hanger bay. We are under fire and have stormtroopes here.” (Cael) “”I’m a bit busy shooting troopers myself.” Moonbeam takes a severe hit and is knocked unconscious. We hear a loud Woooooshhh and a bang from the other side of the door to the comm room. We hear Mathus over the com. (Mathus) “Imp boarding pod, ejected from the vents.” I hand Flower a stimpack for Moonbeam. As I turn to run towards the hall where the troopers are trying to breach the door. I hit the switch on the stealth field. I shimmer out of sight. As I round the shuttle wing I flip the toggle on Betty to Auto. As I run past the end of the hallway. I spray blaster bolts at the 5 troopers in the short hallway. 2 troopers go down in heap. The rest of the troopers scatter because they cant see where the shots came from. They are trapped at the bulkhead door they still have not finished cutting through and I am at the mouth of the hallway. Over my comm. (Berrenger) “Troopers are almost done but now we have a huge armored droid causing havoc.” Great, just great. We have imperials coming out of every orifice here and we are out numbered. I think NOW is the time to call in the marine unit from the Guppy.

Fast Track Upgrade For the Guppy
Episode 9-14-2017

1.073 ABY – 1600 Hour – Titan Base – Corban Sector – Cael Report
After getting a better idea of the 2 possible missions. We rendezvous back at the Smooth Sailor. I lay out what we know of the 2 missions. There are only a few questions brought up on each and then I put it to a vote.
Go to the Asteriod base where Commander Akbar and the Alliance Verpine gyroscopic prototype is. Remove the imperial threat, or evacuate commander and prototype or make sure the Imperials do not get the commander or the prototype.
Vote for – Cael, Mathus, Flower and Omnath
Rescue the Spec Ops Team looking into Shell Cracker Imperial prototype and / or complete mission to get info on imperial prototype weapon.
Vote for – Berrenger, Grabbo and Moonbeam
(Cael) “Looks like we are fast tracking the Guppy’s upgrades and taking a short hop to the Roche asteroid belt. Mathus, what is your time table to complete. Or complete most of the Guppy’s upgrades?” (Mathus) “Well, if the Guppy’s tech crew is half as good as me. I need a day.” (Cael) “Good, will you inform Gravic of our decision when you get to the bridge on the Guppy? Arkem will not be too happy with our decision.” Mathus nods Yes as he walks out the boarding ramp.

1700 Hour – Mathus heads towards the Guppy’s bridge and I head to the supply depot on Titan base. I think we will need some equipment to complete this mission. When I get to the supply area. It is in a desolate section of the base. Mostly asteroid in this area. The supply Sargent’s behind the desk is named Wayne. Working on a mix match of parts at a nearby workbench is Garth. (Wayne) “Good evening Captain. What can we do for you?” (Cael) “I need about a dozen space suits. 1 needs to be Wookee size.” (Garth) “We have them in stock. The wookee suit, I need a few hours to modify.” (Cael) “I see you can modify by what you are putting together there. I have 3 Imperial laminate armor suits. Can they be made space worthy?” (Wayne) “Sure, we have something that can be retrofitted to the outside of the suit to last you several minuets in space.” I look around at all the odd equipment sitting on shelves. (Cael) “Cool, so do you have any personal stealth fields?” Garth gets wide eyed and excited. (Garth) “He wants it.! I have it finished. Wait here. Let me go get it !” (Wayne) “Go get it. Sir, Captain Cael sir. I think you will like this.” Garth comes back with a small pouch that hangs on a belt. He walks around the counter to attach it to my side arm belt. (Garth) “Your Cael Hanarist, the blitzball star. Hear lift your arm. It attaches to your belt.” Garth backs up and has a grin from ear to ear. (Garth) “Try it. Hit the button. Hit the button.” When I press the button. I can see a sheen cover my entire body. When I look into the mirror. I can not see myself. If I move my arms there is a little distortion but still hard to see. I turn the field off. (Cael) ‘This is great. How long will it last?” (Wayne) “If you have it on constant. The power pack will drain in about a half hour. If you use it sporadically. Maybe a little longer.” (Cael) “Good, then I will need power packs for this and for several other weapons.” (Wayne) “Who is the Wookee. I can pull up his service record and get his specifications.” (Cael) “Well, you see, he is not alliance personnel. He is an independent doctor assigned to my crew. He is about 220 centimeters tall and 112 kg. Will that do.” (Wayne) “We can do it. So, you like the stealth field?” (Cael) “Yes, this will do well.” (Garth) “For the field. Can we get you autograph?” (Cael) “Sure, what would you like me to sign.” Garth runs into another small room and comes back with a wall poster of 1 of my early year games. I am in the air over the top of 3 other heads and the ball is poised to be thrown from my right hand. I do not remember the shot but the picture look good. (Garth) “Can you, can you sign this.?” I take a large black marker and sign it “To Wayne and Garth – Cael Hanarist” (Garth) “Thank you sir.” (Wayne) “Let us know if you need anything else Captain Hanarist.” (Cael) “I will, thank you guys.” (Wayne) “Oh, by the way sir. I have packages for you and 2 others of your team.” Wayne hands me 3 packages. 1 is for me. 1 is for Omnath. The 3rd is for Zal. I hand Zal’s package back. (Cael) “This package, you will have to forward to her new unit. Not sure where she is stationed.” The 3 packages are from Gaave. I wonder what he is sending me? Just then, I get a call from Mathus on my com. (Mathus) “Cael, can you get me about 100 meters of RD64 cable and about a dozen T5 power couplings. I am elbow deep in upgrades on the Guppy right now.” (Cael) “I will see what I can do.” I look at the 2 men behind the counter. (Garth) “The RD64 cable is not a problem. I have plenty of that, but I only have T4 couplings. He will have to make due.” (Cael) “OK, Mathus could also use some other equipment. Do you happen to have a data-breaker?” (Wayne) “We have an older model. Garth, please get the DB112 off the 3rd shelf on aisle 6.” Garth comes out from the back room with a 40 cm square box that has a small screen on it and several wires attached. (Garth) “1 slightly used DB112 for you.” I blow a little dust off it and look at the 2 guys skeptical. (Wayne) “It will work. Trust me.” (Cael) “OK, thanks guys.”

1900 Hour – With the stealth field clipped on my belt. I take the DB112, the cable, the box of T4 power couplings and the 2 gift boxes from Gaave and head towards where the Smooth Sailor is Berthed. I stop in a side hallway because the curiosity has got the better of me. I open the package from Gaave. It is an under barrel blaster shot gun. Damn, these things are vicious. Only close range but deadly. There is also a holo-disc in the box. I pop it into my datapad and Gaave’s face pops up. Looks like his hair has grown back. He mentions he has been on several assignments since Onderon and that he found these items and thought we would could use them. He wishes us good luck. Gaave is not a bad guy. We could not have competed the mission on Onderon without him. I head back to the Smooth Sailor to drop off the 2 presents and then head to the Guppy. I stop by the PX and grab a case of ding dong cakes. When I get to the bridge on the Guppy. There is tons of wire hanging everywhere. I find Mathus under a control panel. I walk over and kick his foot. (Cael) “Beware of Mandelorians bearing gifts.” Mathus crawls out from under the consol. I drop the bundle of cable on the deck plate. Place the box of power couplings next to it. Then I reach into the box and pull out the DB112 and hand it to him. (Cael) “Thought you could use this.” (Mathus) “Wow, sure I can use it. Ah, those are T4 couplings not T5.” (Cael) “Supply said you will have to make due. They have no T5s in stock.” (Mathus) “Ok, we will just have to re-route a few things. More cable laying people.” There is a consensus groan from all the tecks in the room. Roots even swivels his dome and gives a groan. I hold up the box of ding dongs. The groans from the tecks turn to a YEA. Mathus grabs the box from me and sets it on the consol. (Cael) “I will leave you all to your work.” As I make my way back to the Smooth Sailor. I go past the ships barracks. I am confronted by a female Tel’wik marine. (Marine) “I hear you are not going after the Spec Ops team. You know they are based here. Too tough of a mission for you?” (Cael) “I felt it was more important to keep a commander safe then having to rescue an Ops team that should have known better of what to do.” The Tel’wik and I have several more cross words before she shows me how accurate she can shoot. On the target range. She runs a silhouette target to the long range setting. She hoists her HG203 blaster rifle and fires a single shot. Her shot is good. Very good but it is to the left in the chest of the silhouette. We seem to have draw a bit of a crowd. Some of the other marines are watching from the door. I hold my hand out for her blaster rifle. She looks at me for a second but hands it over. I re-adjust the sights since they are slightly off. (Marine) “The sights are fine.” I hoist the rifle. Target in the head of the silhouette and fire. The blaster bolt goes right between the eyes. Fricken HG203 rifle kicks like an anger kratt dragon. My shoulder is killing me. I hand her back her rifle. She and the other marines have their mouths open in a gape at that shot. The Tel’wik just stares at me as I leave.

2000 Hour – I grab some chow from the cafeteria. It is some mystery meat in a lite brown sauce and a blue green vegetable that taste like an old seat cushion. I finish eating and head to the Smooth Sailor. When I get there, I notice that Berrenger and Grabbo are not there. They have been spending a lot of time together. Still not sure what Berrenger’s angle is in helping us. I make a quick report to Arkem. Explaining that my team will take the Commander Akbar mission. I decide to put some fire under the Guppy’s marine strike team in the morning with some early morning PT. I turn in for the night. It is a good night with no bad dreams.

1.074 ABY – 0430 Hour – Titan Base – Corban Sector – Cael Report
I wake up early. Throw on some sweats and running shoes. I head to the Guppy’s marine barracks. I get there at 0445. The entire company is still sleeping. I turn on the lights and toss a chair across the room. (Cael) “Up an atom you maggots. Time for PT. The company commander, a quarren sargent named Walden comes into the room half dressed. He sees me at the door barking orders. He runs over stands at attention and salutes. (Walden) “Sir, is there a problem sir?” (Cael) “Sargent, your company has become a bit laxed. We are soon going on a dangerous mission. If, and I do mean if it goes bad. It is your company of marines I am going to call for back up support. For starters we are going to have a 30 minuet PT. Records show you have not required PT for several months from them. We need these people in tip top fighting shape. Do I make myself clear?” The quarren nods yes. He turns to the company. (Walden) “All right, everyone up for PT, 5 minuets !” (Private) “But sarge, its only 0450. We have another 2 hours sleep.” (Walden) “I said up now Becker or I am going to make you scrub floors with a toothbrush for a week.” In 5 minuets the company is as ready as they will ever be. I take them on a jogging course through the ship. At a cross hallway we come across Mathus slowly walking towards us. He looks like he has been up all night. (Cael) “Good morning Mathus.” (Mathus) “Good night Cael.” As we jog by him. We wind our way through corridors. The early shift crew is dumbfounded that the marines are up this early and training. I deliver them back to the barracks in a half hour. (Cael) “All right, shower, shave and day uniforms for chow. After chow I want to see how well you can disappoint me in the rest of your training.” They all look at me like they want to fall back in bed, but they head to the showers. I find the officers quarters. Shower and shave and I grab a clean flight jump suit. I am waiting in the cafeteria for 10 minuets before the first of the marines makes it down there. Breakfast is a protein drink, 2 slabs of meat and a grain – vegie bar. After 15 minuets Lt Coronel Gravic comes into the cafeteria. He is startled by the amount of marines in here this early. He grabs a cup of java and a bowl of some gelatin that smells like fish. He sits at my table and we discuss the upgrades while he eats. (Gravic) “Your man Mathus is a work taun taun. He competed 4 days of upgrades, wiring and repairs in 1 night. We should be ready for departure later this morning.” (Cael) “Thank you sir. I will inform him of your gratitude when he finally wakes up in a week. I passed him in the corridor a while ago heading towards his bunk. I have a few things I need to attend to. Plan b stuff. Then my crew will load the shuttle for when we get to our departure point.” (Gravic) “Good, good, you do that. By the way, why are the marines up this early?” (Cael) “Plan B stuff sir, plan B.” Gravic gives me a sideways look but does not press the point. I finish my vegie bar. I stand, salute Gravic and head to check on the records of each marine.

0630 Hour – I make a list of recommendations for the marine company sargent to train each person in his company. I forward him the list. They are in better shape then I originally expected. As I return to the Smooth Sailor I am met by Berrenger. (Cael) “So what have you been up to? You know we depart in a few hours.” (Berrenger) “I have been helping Grabbo. Oh yea here, this sort of ended up in my hands. So you can have them.” Berrenger hands me a small heavy box. I open it and there are 2 thermo detonators in it. (Cael) “I love you man….Not that way, but, but I love you man.” Berrenger smirks and walks past. I check with the girls. They are attaching the space suit attachments to their armor to test them out and see how it fits. (Cael) “We need to move the Sailor back to the Guppy. Then move any equipment we are going to need to the shuttle. Do the retrofits work on the armor?” (Flower) “It’s a little time consuming to attach to the armor. A bit bulky but they seal and you have about 12 to 15 minuets of heat and air.” (Cael) “Good, I got extra power packs and be careful with these.” I hand moonbeam the box. (MB) “What’s in here?” (Cael) “Thermo detonators. Berrenger scrounged them up somewhere.” Both girls look at me wide eyed. (Cael) “They are stable as long as you don’t activate them. Just put them with our stuff that needs to go in the shuttle. Move the Sailor. I have to go meed Gravic. He has been running interference for us with Arkem. Who is upset that we did not take his mission.” (MB) “Cael, 2 guys from supply also dropped a load of space suits off. These suits and the mods for our armor are going with us, right?” (Cael) “Yes, the mission involves an asteroid belt. We most likely will need them.” I leave the girls to move the ship.

0930 Hour – I get to the bridge of the Guppy. Roots is just finishing up on the software upgrades. I find the empty box of ding dongs sitting on a roll of cable. Grabbo is there. He is handing out green pills to some of the teck crew still working. I am pretty sure I don’t want to know what those pills are. Berrenger soon after me, walks onto the bridge. (Berrenger) “Wow, what a mess Mathus left here.” (Cael) “Yea, he worked all night to finish the upgrades.” A female bridge ensign comes up to me. (Ensign) “Captain Cael, We have cleared your transport vessel the Smooth Sailor to docking bay #2. The crew in that bay will load your equipment across to the shuttle you will be using.” (Cael) “Thank you ensign.” Gravic comes over to Berrenger and I. (Gravic) “Gentleman, We will be leaving in approximately half an hour. The upgrades are complete. The bridge just needs a little clean up but that can happen while we are under way. We will brief you after we have entered hyperspace.” (Cael) “We will return in half an hour for departure and the briefing.” Berrenger and I take a short tour of the Guppy. We discuss what has transpired over the past day. I inform him of the equipment I have allocated from Titan base. I also inform him that I prepared the marine company on board the Guppy here that they were on stand by if all hell breaks loose. I do not tell Berrenger about the stealth field. The less people know of that ace in the hole the better. Berrenger informs me that he has been helping Grabbo secure some special medication. He shows me his new larger blaster pistol. Not sure he will hit any better with it. We work our way past the barracks level. The marines are working on hostage drills and forced entry drills. We stop at the cafeteria and we each grab a cup of java and then head back to the bridge.

1000 Hour – As we get to the bridge. We find Mathus is going through the new software with the bridge crew. Gravic orders the departure. The pilot and navigator start the procedure. Titan base retracts the access port ramps. The Guppy reals in her mooring cables and she slowly starts backing out of her berth. Mathus is showing Gravic his new 4 holo screen command console. Soon we are moving a half speed to our 1st jump point. Mathus walks over to Berrenger and I. I pull out the shotgun attachment. (Cael) “You think you can attach this to Betty?” (Mathus) “Yea, wow, where did you get this?” (Cael) “Someone gave me a gift.” (Mathus) “Some gift. It will take me a half hour to attach it.” Gravic gives command of the bridge to his 1st officer and he points the 3 of us to his office. Berrenger, Mathus and I sit at the conference table as Gravic calls up the mission specs. (Gravic) “Mathus, before we get started. I want to personally commend you on these upgrades. This would have taken the tecks at Titan base several days.” (Mathus) “Thank you sir. This is more refreshing then my last job. Also less Jawas I would have to deal with.” (Gravic) “Yes, very good. Gentlemen, it will take us several hours to reach the Roche asteroid belt. Commander Akbar is at research station Shantipole. It is camouflaged as several asteroids. He is working on a Verpine gyroscopic prototype fighter. We have received reports that there are several imperial star destroyers in the sector looking for the secret base. We may have a leak and we can not afford to loose this prototype. I also have a holo disc for you to deliver to the commander.” Gravic pulls up a holo schematic of the base. There are 18 actual asteroids in the base. The 2 largest holds the command center and the other holds the hanger bay for the prototype. The base commander is a colonel Hallby. Ackbar’s aid is a Quarren named Conror Jax. Your mission is to deliver this coded disc to Akbar. If possible, throw off the imperials to the bases location. Find the leaker and eliminate them. If all starts to go bad. Smoothly, and I do mean smoothly evacuate Ackbar and the prototype.” (Cael) “Sir, What if we can not get the prototype out safely?” (Gravic) “Then your mission is to make sure it does not fall into imperial hands.” (Cael) “And what if Ackbar does not want to evacuate or allow us to destroy the prototype. He does technically out rank me.” (Gravic) “The coded disc will inform him of your mission parameters. You will complete your mission even under Ackbar’s objections. Do I make myself clear?” (Cael, Berrenger, Mathus) “Yes Sir.” (Gravic) “Good, we have procured a MC-24A shuttle for you and your team to covertly get to Shantipole Base in. It has some shields and is lightly armed with 2 light laser cannons. Less flashy they your transport.” (Berrenger) “How long till we reach our drop point?” (Gravic) “Several hours. We need to make 1 jump and some maneuvering when we come out of hyperspace on the other side. Any more questions?” We all shake our head No, but Berrenger looks slightly worried. (Gravic) “Good, dismissed.” As we filter out of Gravic’s office. I lean over to Berrenger. (Cael) “Relax, we will be back here on the Guppy with the commander and the prototype faster then you can count the number of asteroids in that belt. Berrenger just gives me a thin smile worried look.

After our debriefing on Titan Base, we were given some time to recuperate and restock. Soon after, we were summoned for a meeting discussing two possible missions. One is Operation Shellcracker, and the objective is to capture a new prototype the Imps were working on. The other is to head to the Roche asteroid belt to Research Station Shantipole. The is an issue of intelligence leakage and the Imps have been sniffing around the asteroid belt. The mission is to find the leaker.

We took a vote and the vote on the mission and by a slim majority, the group decided to head to station Shantipole. I wanted to do Operation Shellcracker as I found it intriguing, however I’m content with the other mission as it may be less risky.

A little about Shantipole, it one of many asteroids in the Roche asteroid belt that are inhabited by the Republic. The base commander is Ackbar with his aides Cannor Jax and Hallaby. They should be our key contacts to solicit info about the station.

There is another asteroid within the asteroid field testing a new prototype that has stabilization/gyroscopic technology developed by the Verbine. Commander Ackbar is overseeing the development and its secrecy needs to be protected.

To prepare for the mission, Kael acquired a bunch of spacesuits while I gathered other common supplies and even some not-so-common like second skin armor. Fortunately I knew a quartermaster, Smith, who had access. I was able to convince him I need the armor for an upcoming mission. I also asked to get an altered heavy blaster pistol to replace my pee-shooter. I had to prove my proficiency before getting one.

Later in the day, Durilla approached me. She kind of apologized for her action earlier in the day and expressed concern for the rebellion. The Imps are mad after the loss at Yavin and that are tightening their grip around the galaxy. I said there is a need to reduce the bureaucracy and let people do what they do best; and only then we will succeed.

I went back to my duty to make sure we have the right supplies for the upcoming mission. When I submitted my list, I may have inadvertently asked for a few Thermals. Well, low and behold, I received a box with 2 Thermals. I was shocked. I took those and handed them to Kael. He seemed pleasantly surprised.

Grabo later approached me and asked be to obtained some substance known as Greenies or Throttle. I reluctantly agreed to help, but I had to be discrete because it’s a controlled substance. I went back to quartermaster Smith asking for specific chemical compounds. Quartermaster Smith understood what I was asking for and agreed to help. He took me to a far, rarely used part of the station used to store odds and ends. He opened a toolbox and supplied the substance in exchange for 100 credits.

Quartermaster Smith also showed me an auto injector and on it was the chemical compound. Smith said this stuff is called the Eyes of Authorian. He said it makes one see everything. I don’t see it as something for me, but took it to Grabo for his analysis.

Grabo was happy to see me, as best as a Wookie can, when I handed him the Throttle. I also showed Grabo the auto injector. Grabo knew the compound and explained, as best he can, it’s a stimulant that meant for the battlefield and causes extreme focus. He thinks that’s something useful later on.

I head back to my quarters to rest, only to be woken up by DZ, how has now grown attached to me for some reason. I don’t mind having DZ around as he help me sort through information and is good in maintaining inventory. DZ hands me a datapad with intel on the upcoming mission. It include the base profile and Commander Ackbar’s aides.

It was advised that I should do this upcoming mission under a ruse as to not draw suspicion to any potential base leaker. I asked to load the shuttle up with more supplies to deliver to Ackbar’s post. I got the supplies and loaded it on the Guppy. Then we were off to the asteroid belt.
